Summer is a beautiful time at Cae Mabon, when the landscape here is robed in a lush green mantle, the long days are blissful for walks in the woods and mountains and to watch the sun set while you take a dip in Padarn lake as dusk approaches. But, it's also a busy time, when our core team often need an extra pair of helping hands, so we're inviting volunteers to come and stay with us for 6 weeks or more, to live and work as part of our community. In exchange for the equivalent of 2 days / 16 hours of work spread across the week - which provides plenty of time for exploring the stunning mountains, valleys and coastline of Snowdonia and to delve into the history and mythology of this place - we'll accommodate you, feed you wholsome food and nourish you with songs, stories and time in nature.
Accommodation is either in one of our comfortable caravans or in the Bunkhouse. Work will revolve around housekeeping duties: cleaning, tidying, laundry and generally getting the place ready for our retreat guests.
It will suit those who love the outdoors, enjoy living lightly on the land and are ready to help us warmly welcome the hundreds of people who come here on retreat each year. The season begins in earnest after Easter and continues right through until the end of September.
Being a haven for tourism, Llanberis - a 10 minute drive or 30 minute walk through the woods - offers many opportunities for paid seasonal work should you wish. There are regular buses between Llanberis and Caernarfon (the nearest town) and Bangor which has a railway station.
